It is common for students to forget what they learn over long holiday breaks like summer. It actually is called the summer slump. In an effort to ward off the summer slump Fairplain Elementary sent every student home with resources to keep them learning over the summer. Since you can lead a horse to water but, you can't make him drink, just giving students resources to learn is not enough to keep them on track.
This year approximately 40% of Fairplain students managed to maintain or improve their performance on benchmark testing, when compared to the end of last school year! The real credit goes to the students who worked hard and the parents who provided educationally stimulating environments and activities! We are so proud of your accomplishments! Keep up the good work!
